2012

In this year, we focused on developing education of robot kits, tele-operated cranes and the "botbeep" project. We've tried to use robot kits for teaching railway engineers, including several regions like computational design methods, applications in CAD, CAM and CAE education. Besides, in order to advance automation in construc-tion, we were committed to studying in tele-operated cranes.
Furthermore, Generation of real-time rigging path guidance and development of user interface are also the areas we sincerely care about. Last but not least, the "botbeep" project in this year were carrying out pace by pace, and there are some brief description about the project below.

User experience for the elderly 

In the brainstorming of the project, we've found that most of the elders aren't familiar to the operation of wheelchairs, and it's pretty dangerous while moving backward on the wheel-chairs. 
在計畫發想階段,我們發現大部長者們並不熟悉輪椅的操作,在倒車時更容易發生跌倒的危險。

User-friendly

Because the main users of the "botbeep" are elders or nursing workers, we need to design a user-friendly interface. 
由於「保庇系統」的使用者主要為長者或看護,因此需要設計一套容易上手的使用者介面。

Cost down

In the project, in order to popularize the project, we tried to reduce the cost by simplifying the equipment.
在這計畫中,我們透過簡化儀器來降低成本,以期達到一般人都能接受或捐贈的價格。
Multisectoral collaboration 
In the project, we collaborate with the experts in mechanics, design and industrial management.
在這項計畫中,我們結合機械、設計及工業管理等專業領域。

Testing sensors 

We've experienced several sensors like Xbox 360 Kinect, IR sensor and laser light to detect the condition of roads. After analyzing the result of the experiment, we chose laser light to apply for the equipment. 
我們利用 Xbox 360 Kinect、紅外線及雷射光等不同感應器偵測路面,並在分析實驗結果後,以雷射光感應器作為定案。

Combing with a smart phone

We combined the sensor with the smart phone by a simple but practical clip. Due to the situation of roads discovered by the camera of the phone, the procedures of computation, user interface and analysis of roads could be executed simul-taneously. 
我們透過簡單的夾具將感應器與智慧型手機結合,並利用手機鏡頭取得路面資訊,使得資料運算、使用介面及路面分析等動作能同時運作。

Achievements 

The project had honored by CTCI Foundation and been reported by CNA News. Further more, the project debuted on the "presentation of green and orange technologies" hold by National Science Committee(today is Ministry of Science and Technology.  
這項計畫曾獲中技社團體獎學金,並在中央社及國科會綠橘科技成果發表會上曝光。

Prospect 

We sincerely expect that the project could be applied in the market, and we're looking for partners for product collabo-ration or technology transference.
我們期望能將這項計畫發揚光大,並尋找廠商進行產品合作或技術轉移。
